The Simple Woman's Daybook - October 25, 2011
FOR TODAY – October 25, 2011
Outside my window...are lots of grey and white fluffy clouds. It’s definitely a fall day here in California.
I am thinking...about closed toed shoes...I like my flip flops and sandals a lot...and giving them up for fall and winter feels like prison for my feet.
I am thankful...for my Mom. She is pretty fantastic at loving me.
In the kitchen...BBQ Pulled Pork for our potluck at Woman’s Bible study tonight.
I am wearing...A red/black top, black slacks, and Black heeled sandals.
I am creating...our Family Portfolio for our Adoption. Pictures, Pictures, and Pictures.
I am going...to the DMV at lunch today to get a copy of my driving record for our Adoption.
I am wondering...if my husband is having a better day than yesterday. I am praying special prayers for him today.
I am reading... 20 things Adoptive Parents Need to Succeed by Sherrie Eldridge, and The Help
I am hoping...to add 30 minutes of exercise a day to my life, starting tomorrow..Of course.
I am looking forward to...spending some time working on laundry and housekeeping tomorrow. We had a very busy weekend last week and another one coming up. Taking the time to keep things picked up during the week is really helpful!
I am hearing...lots of old classics..I’ve been in a funk..Musically...I’m in a New York State of Mind
Around the house...Laundry, Cleaning, getting ready for this weekend. Right now we are expecting 9 guests for Pumpkin Carving at our house on Sunday.
I am pondering...thoughts of our Adoption, specifically the sacrifices we will make as parents. As we finish up our paperwork and get ready to start our home study, I find myself weakened by the process and the hoops we have to jump. I think thoughts about other people who just magically conceive without an emergency plan or fingerprints, and how crazy and intrusive this all feels. Then I think about how our world will change when we have our little one, and how worth all of this will be.
One of my favorite things...these new boots I saw at Macys last night. I didn’t buy them just yet..but they will be mine!
A few plans for the rest of the week: Work, Knott’s Scary Farm on Friday Night, a Cemetery Tour in Long Beach on Saturday Night, and Pumpkin Carving with Friends and Family on Sunday Night

Enjoyed your Daybook! I hate closed in shoes, too. It's snowing here, & I'm still barefoot, although if there's too much more running in & out, & doors opening & closing, I'll need to go find some socks.
ReplyDeletePraying your adoption goes smoothly.
